If there were ever a place where sailing and La Dolce Vita came together perfectly, it’s Italy’s spectacular Amalfi Coast. Towering cliffs, colorful villages, crystal-clear anchorages, incredible food, ancient history, and enough gelato to justify loosening your life jacket one notch… this is the Mediterranean at its absolute finest. 🇮🇹⚓

Our expanded 10-day Gnomad Sailing Adventures flotilla isn’t about racing from destination to destination. It’s about slowing down, soaking it all in, and letting Italy work its magic.

🏘️ Days 1-2: Procida

Sometimes Mother Nature has her own itinerary. Our adventure begins in colorful Procida, where weather occasionally reminds us who’s really in charge. Fortunately, being “stuck” in Procida is hardly a hardship! 😄

Spend your days wandering narrow cobblestone streets, photographing the famous pastel waterfront of Marina Corricella, discovering hidden cafés, enjoying authentic Neapolitan pizza, and settling into the wonderfully relaxed pace of southern Italy. It’s the perfect place to meet your fellow crew before we cast off.

🏰 Day 3: Ischia & Aragonese Castle

Once conditions improve, we make the short sail to Ischia, anchoring just south of the magnificent Aragonese Castle. ⚓🏰

Few anchorages are as dramatic as dropping the hook beneath a medieval fortress rising directly from the sea. Swim in the warm Mediterranean, paddle around the castle, or head ashore to explore centuries of history before enjoying dinner overlooking the water.

Sunsets here are pure postcard material. 🌅

🌺 Days 4-5: Positano & Capri

Next we sail to the legendary village of Positano, securing our boats Mediterranean-style using fore-and-aft mooring lines. Watching everyone perfect their Med-mooring skills is always part of the adventure! 😄⚓

Positano is exactly what you’ve imagined… colorful homes cascading down impossibly steep cliffs, boutique shopping, cafés tucked into every corner, and beaches lined with umbrellas and laughter.

Because one day simply isn’t enough, we spend two nights here.

During our layover we’ll hop aboard a taxi boat and spend an unforgettable day exploring the island of Capri. Wander through elegant piazzas, browse luxury boutiques, enjoy lunch overlooking the sea, ride the chairlift to Monte Solaro, or simply sip an Aperol Spritz while watching the world stroll by. 🍋🍹

If you’re feeling adventurous, a visit to the famous Blue Grotto is always an option.

🍋 Day 6: Amalfi

After a leisurely morning sail, we arrive in the historic town of Amalfi for lunch… and this time, we’re staying the night. 🎉

Once one of the Mediterranean’s most powerful maritime republics, Amalfi is rich in history and charm. Visit the magnificent Cathedral of Saint Andrew, wander the lively piazzas, sample locally made limoncello, and browse artisan shops tucked into centuries-old alleyways.

As evening falls and many of the day tourists depart, Amalfi transforms into something magical. Relax over a long Italian dinner, enjoy waterfront cocktails, and experience the town at its most peaceful.

🍝 Day 7: Nerano

A short sail brings us to beautiful Nerano, where we once again Med-moor using fore-and-aft lines.

Nerano is famous throughout Italy for one thing… Spaghetti alla Nerano. 🍝🇮🇹

Created right here, this simple combination of zucchini, cheese, basil, and pasta has become legendary. Pair it with local wine while watching fishing boats return to harbor and you’ll quickly understand why Italians treat meals as an event rather than simply eating.

🍋 Day 8: Sorrento

Our next stop is beautiful Sorrento, perched high above the Bay of Naples. 🌅🍋

Spend the afternoon exploring elegant shopping streets, lively piazzas, and hidden alleyways filled with artisan shops selling ceramics, leather goods, and locally crafted limoncello. Enjoy a leisurely dinner overlooking the Bay of Naples as Mount Vesuvius glows in the distance, then finish the evening with gelato while soaking up the unmistakable energy of one of Italy’s most beloved coastal towns.

🌊 Day 9: Sant’Angelo, Ischia

Our final destination before returning home is the elegant seaside village of Sant’Angelo.

With no cars, charming waterfront promenades, thermal hot springs, colorful boutiques, and inviting cafés, Sant’Angelo feels wonderfully timeless. Spend the afternoon soaking in natural thermal waters, swimming from the boat, shopping, or simply watching life unfold from a waterfront table with an espresso in hand. ☕♨️

It’s the perfect place to unwind, reflect on an incredible adventure, and enjoy one final magical evening together before sailing back to Procida.

🏴‍☠️ Day 10: Return to Procida

Our final sail takes us back to Procida, where we fuel the boats, complete our final docking, and prepare for one last unforgettable evening…
